Turkray Ulasim A.S. has accelerated its activities in the field of rail systems with the aim of designing and producing of metro, metro bus and monorail for urban transportation and speed trains for intercity transportation to overcome the problem of public transport in Turkey. TURKRAY Ulasim A.S. who is continuing to grow in the light of these aims is preparing to introduce the “TURKRAY System” something that no institution private or governmental has dared to undertake.

There are over four hundred monorail systems set up across the globe. Being independent from roads and objects in city centers and advancing on protected steel rail or rod routes high from the ground make monorail systems the safest mode of transportation. Being constructed above the ground keeps the system from interfering with traffic and thus eliminates the risk of accidents. Besides this security it provides, the acceleration is provided by electrical engines and in this way the system works without noise and allows it to be environment friendly. Short construction time and low infrastructure costs are other characteristics that make monorail systems different from other light rail systems.

The project was started with 100% Turkish capital with the support of The Turkish Technology Development Foundation (TTGV) and The World Bank in 2003 and today all the infrastructure activities have been completed and a large portion of the upper structure have also been completed. The “infrastructure” starts from the ground and consists of the topographic analysis, fundamentals, poles/pillars and rails while the “upper structure” is made up of the bodywork, bogies, electric bars and lines planted along the rails and the electric transformer center.
